Abstract Shoe

ARTIST STATEMENT

DESCRIBE

This drawing doesn't have a setting, or really a subject. Its just abstract. I created it using a sharpie and twistable colored pencils. I chose to zoom and crop and color that view of a shoe because the dots made it the most interesting one out of the 3 that I had to chose from to enlarge again.

ANALYZE

I used the oom and crop technique on this artwork. I zoomed in on a part of the shoe, then enlarged it on big paper. I changed the color scheme, because my eraser cap broke and the blue paint on the pencil made a line on the paper, so I used blue colored pencil to cover it up, but I was originally going to make it a lighter color, like light pink or yellow.

INTERPRET

There isn't any meaning behind this artwork, its just an abstract piece. The project relates to my life because, again, its a zoom and cropped version of my shoe, and I wear those shoes pretty much everyday. The artwork could be stronger if I had a more steady hand while outlining the pure contour lines with my sharpie, because some of the lines that are supposed to be straight are a little wobbly.
