ARTIST STATEMENT

INTERPRET

The story of this is that this is a very American dish that is found at so many American restaurants and is known as being a big part of American culture when it comes to food. This relates to my life because I live in America and love food and cooking.

DESCRIBE MATERIALS

This piece was made with ink pens (black and white) and colored pencil. I outlined everything in black, then colored it all with colored pencil and touched up the sesame seed stars with white pen.

DESCRIBE PROCESS

I experimented with patten, color, and repetition in this piece, using the patterns and colors seen in the American flag. This project did not evolve through the process My next step might be to clean up the bigger white spaces in my art. I tried my best to color it white so it would look smooth, but you can still see a few smears of red here and there.
