School Policy creation and editing is restricted to certain roles.
Policies that are university-wide, such as the Late Policy, will be the same in all School Policy records and will be updated by Operations team when/if catalog changes.
Navigate to School Policies.
Click Create New School Policy.
Select School.
Select Policy Type: Graduate or Undergraduate.
Enter policy data as applicable for the school and program level regarding Late Policy, tutoring, Assignments, Seminars, Discussion Boards, rubrics, course materials, instructor grading criteria, netiquette, and any other policies that might be school/program level specific that need to be displayed in the syllabus.
Check CBE only if the School Policy Record is applicable for ExcelTrack syllabus content.
Note: If you copy and paste information, the content could contain hidden HTML content that will lock up the CIMS record. It is best to use the editor tools within the CIMS record entry fields and type directly into the record to avoid unintended issues when the syllabus is published.
Special characters, such as quotation marks and apostrophes, will not translate from copied content. Double spaces between words or paragraphs when copied in will result in arbitrary characters appearing in the syllabus.
Save School Policy.
Open just-created School Policy Record to add Grading Scales data from catalog for school and program level.
Each school will have separate Grading Scales for graduate and undergraduate courses.
Grading Scales are extracted for the publication of syllabi.
Select Edit link on existing Policy Record.
Scroll to bottom to add/edit the Grading Scale,
Enter row of Grading Scale, then click Insert Grading Scale. Proceed to enter all rows.
Note that the scale will automatically order the rows by the Grade Point column.
Grading Scale data is saved immediately when a row is inserted.
To edit a specific Grading Scale row:
Select the Edit link next to the row that needs to be updated.
The row data will appear in data fields.
Adjust/edit data as necessary.
Select "Insert Grading Scale Row."
If a Grade Scale Row is deleted, ensure that other rows are adjusted or a new row is added so that all grade points between 0 and 1000 are accounted for in the scale.
