Many fields on the Course List are updated and maintained by the course C&I team during and after development.
Navigate to the Course List and locate the course.
Click Edit.
Update fields. See below information for updating Course List data sections.
Save Course record.
Note: Courses with reason for placeholder as "Catalog" or "Not in Catalog Yet" will display the catalog information fields in blue and will not be editable. These fields, as well as the Course Type field, will be locked.
Fields that should be updated with each development project.
Course Resources
Select all Third Party Tools in the course.
Select applicable information regarding if the course has a LibGuide (Yes) or does not need a LibGuide (N/A)
Indicate if the course uses Social Media platforms.
If Seminars are offered, select the type of seminars
Indicate the number of Seminars offered in the course.
Check if the Seminars are graded.
Other Course Information
Skill Level Writing (used to populate the Course Guide)
Skill Level Math (used to populate the Course Guide)
Audio Assignment - Should be checked if students will be required to turn in an audio file for any assignment
Video Assignments - Should be checked if students will be required to turn in a video file for any assignment
Timed Assessments - Provides information for SAS as to what courses have timed assessments. A multi-select field in which all applicable should be selected.
Software Hardware Requirements
These must be approved by the PPRC, and the SOP for Hardware/Software changes must be followed.
Information in this field is populated to the syllabus and Course Guides.
Assessment Overview - For ExcelTrack courses, this indicates the type of assessment used.
Note: Will default to "Not ExcelTrack/Modularized" if the reason for placeholder is "Non-Catalog" or the course type is "Regular."
Mid-Term Exam - Indicates what type of mid-term exam is used in non-ExcelTrack courses
Final Exam - Indicates what type of mid-term exam is used in non-ExcelTrack courses
Note: Mid-Term and Final Exam fields will auto-populate to "None" if course type is "Outcome Module" and to "Exempt" if reason for placeholder is "Non-Catalog."
Open Text Fields
Additional Syllabus Info Field – This field will appear in the syllabus directly below the gradebook table under the header “Specific Program/Course Requirements.” It is meant to provide additional specific grading criteria required by programs to be in the syllabus. It will accommodate both text and tables.
Course Policy Field - The Course Policy field allows for course-specific instruction or information that needs to be in the syllabus. Please note: This information should not be copied from Microsoft Word or any other program or application that contains markup. If you must copy and paste, format your information to “Text” first using Wordpad.
Comment Field - The Comment field is meant for internal communications of course-specific information that other team members may need to be aware of, such as "This course will not have a gradebook."
If any fields that are not editable need to be corrected, an Ops Action Request should be submitted to have the fields corrected administratively.
