Overview:
YouTube is a free video sharing website. Videos are a great way to engage learners, introduce or break down a concept, use for independent or small group work, or to research a topic. YouTube videos can be made interactive by uploading them to the free website, EdPuzzle. Users are able to search through a vast library of uploaded videos, or create their own. To search for a video, simply type a word or phrase in the search bar. Results can be filtered by uploaded date, type of resource, duration, features, relevance, view count, or rating. To upload a video, users can use a screensharing program, such as Screencastify, or upload a file recorded from a smartphone. Uploaded videos can be made private or public. Videos can be viewed right away, saved to a playlist, or shared with others through a link, Google Classroom, or social media. Recording your own video lessons allows learners to go back and review previously taught material. You can also use video lessons to flip your classroom to promote discussions and small group work during class time.
