Overview:
Google Sheets is a free web-based spreadsheet program developed by Google, similar to Microsoft Excel. Because it is online, Google Sheets can be accessed from anywhere with internet access. The sharing feature allows for multiple collaborators to work on the same sheet simultaneously. Google Sheets is a great tool to use to collect and organize data. Conditional formatting enables specific cells to change colors if they include a letter, word, phrase, or number. Charts, images, drawings, and links can easily be added to any spreadsheet. Students can review concepts by completed mystery pictures on Google Sheets, where parts of a picture appear for correct responses to problems. The collaboration feature allows for easy collaboration in group projects, even if peers are working together in different classes. If assigned as a Google Classroom assignment or if the student shares their spreadsheet with you, you are able to go into their work to offer support and feedback in real time. You are also able to go in to see the version's history if you ever need to go back to restore an earlier version of the spreadsheet. Google Sheets is a great digital spreadsheet than can be used in a variety of ways.
