Overview:
DreamBox is an adaptive, interactive, self-paced math program designed for Grades K-8. There is no diagnostic. Instead, all students start at the mid-year point from the previous grade level that they are currently at. Based on how students respond within each lesson, they are either given more challenging lessons, less challenging lessons, or more lessons at that level. Students are able to choose which lesson they want to work on. The teacher is also able to assign lessons for individual students, or for the entire class, to work on. As students complete lessons, they earn coins that they can use to play short games or to customize their DreamBox experience. The goal is for students to complete at least 5 lessons per week. If a student does not pass a lesson, it is still counted towards their 5 completed lessons. Students are able to track their completed lesson progress on their student dashboard. The teacher dashboard allows you to track individual student's progress, lessons that have been passed or are re-attempting, student growth by domain, predictions of how each student will perform on grade-level assessments, and so much more. DreamBox offers DreamBox University, which provides a wide variety of quick courses that teachers can take to be able to best utilize DreamBox in their classroom, as well as understand how to use the data to inform instruction.
