Overview:
Quizizz is a fun, interactive program that collects formative data! It is very similar to Kahoot because students earn points for correct responses and are competing against each other, but students work at their own pace. So if a student answers a question quickly, they immediately find out if they are correct or incorrect, and then move on to the next question, even if other students are still working on the first question. The questions can also be shuffled so students can work on different questions than the person next to them.
After each question, a meme pops up to let the student know if they answered the question correctly or incorrectly. If the student answered the question incorrectly, the correct answer will appear in green. The teacher is able to show their screen on the whiteboard using their projector so students can see how they are doing compared to their peers.
Another great feature of Quizizz is that the class's total points are collected! There is a bar at the top of the screen that is being presented where points are added to the left in green for correct responses by the class and to the right in red for incorrect responses. The percentage of how the class is doing as a whole is presented on the bar as well. A fun way to keep students motivated is to make the game a class challenge. The class can play the game several times, trying to improve the overall class percentage each time!

Tips:
Similarly to Kahoot, the teacher can choose for the Quizizz game to be played in a live setting or assign the game to be done asynchronously. This is a great way to review several topics prior to a large assessment. Students are able to choose which topics to review, and can even play the game more than once to try to increase their score!
Teachers can create their own Quizizz game from scratch, or use an already-created game by searching the topic in the search bar on the home screen after logging in.
You can even make your Quizizz game into a review lesson by including slides throughout the game so students can quickly review the topic before answering questions!
