Overview:
Slido is an engaging online Q&A and polling platform! This is such a great tool to reflect on a lesson, check in on how the class is feeling, respond to a short question, or for students to ask questions! Slido can be used in live time or asynchronously. Teachers can create a Slido from scratch or use a template already created. To access the Slido, students simply go to the website and type in the code that is presented. The teacher can then present their screen using the projector to allow the class to see everyone's anonymous responses. When creating a Slido from scratch, teachers can choose to engage their audience by using multiple choice, a word cloud, a quiz, rating, open text, or ranking. If you hover your mouse over each of these options, an image appears showing you what it will look like as students are responding. While students are responding, you can see how many responses have been submitted in live time. You can go back to review students' responses any time by clicking on the name of the poll. Multiples collaborators are able to work on and use the same Slido. This is great for teachers who share materials across grade levels and would like to share their creations with colleagues!

Tips:
When creating a Slido, you can select how it appears while being presented, including multiple choice, word cloud, quiz, rating, open text, and ranking. With the Multiple Choice option, you are able to ask students one multiple choice question that they will respond to. When using the Word Cloud, students type a short response to the question. The responses appear in different color and text sizes. With the Quiz, students respond to multiply questions. The leaderboard is shown at the end showing the number of questions correct and the amount of time it took to answer all of the questions. With the Rating, students rate on a number scale. The percentage of students that responded for each number is shown on the screen. With Open Text, students type a response to a question. Responses are shown on the screen. Finally, with Ranking, students rank the choices provided to them.
To allow students to ask their questions, simply go to New Slido and then Present Now. Students can join at slido.com and then put the code in that is presented on the screen where it says "Joining as a Participant?" When submitting their questions, students can choose to put their names or answer anonymously. Students can like each other's questions. You can also remove any question that may be off topic.
