Overview:
Google Classroom is an online platform that allows teachers to organize online materials for students to access from school or home. Each student has their own account. When they log in, they choose the class that they are looking for materials in. They are then directed the Class Stream, where announcements can be posted, as well as access to recently assigned assignments. All of the materials can be organized under the Classwork tab. When adding materials or classwork to Google Classwork, you can choose to make the upload an assignment, a quiz assignment, a question, or a material. For each of these options, you can give your post a title, description, and choose to add a file, link, or YouTube video. You can also choose to create a new Google File to attach. You are able to assign classwork and materials to specific students or the entire class, as well as multiple classes at the same time. If you choose to assign an assignment, you can decide to have students view the file, edit the file, or make a copy for each student. You can also add a point value, rubric, and due date. Topics make your Google Classroom page organized so students can easily find assignments and materials. As the teacher, you are able to go into each student's work and collaborate with them. You can also leave feedback in the private comments section. Families also receive weekly reports on their student's work completion. Google Classroom is a wonderful program that allows teachers to easily organize online materials and classwork for students to access.
