Overview:
Socrative is an online, interactive tool that can be used to review previously taught concepts or take a poll in an engaging way! The class can either answer the questions as a Quiz, on teams in the Space Race, or as an Exit Ticket! When creating the questions, the teacher is able to include an image, as well as an explanation as to the correct answer for the student to see. You can also include the standard(s) that are covered in the quiz. All results are saved and can be viewed any time in the Reports tab.
In the Quiz mode, the teacher is able to monitor each student's progress as they are taking the quiz, including the exact responses each student is putting. The teacher is also able to choose the delivery mode of the questions, including Instant Feedback, Open Navigation, or Teacher Paced.
With Instant Feedback, students answer questions in order and cannot change their responses. They receive instant feedback after answering each question. The teacher can monitor the students' progress in live time.
With Open Navigation, students are able to answer questions in any order and change their responses before finishing. The teacher can monitor the students' progress in live time.
With Teacher Paced, the teacher controls when each question is answered. You can skip or revisit questions as a class at any time.
In the Space Race, students are randomly placed on teams. The teacher determines the number of teams when starting the Space Race. Students work as a team to earn as many points as possible with correct responses. The teacher is able to view each student's responses, as well as the team's overall percentage, at the end of the game in the Reports tab.
In the Exit Ticket Mode, students are able to reflect on the lesson by responding to the following 3 questions:
1) How well did you understand today's material?
2) What did you learn in today's class?
3) Please answer the teacher's question.
