Overview:
Padlet is a website and app that allows users to post responses to prompts on a virtual board, called a Padlet. When making a new Padlet, you can choose different styles allowing users' responses to show up differently on the virtual board, including Wall, Stream, Grid, Shelf, Map, Canvas, and Timeline. There is a brief description of how the responses will appear below each style when you are selecting. Next, you can personalize your Padlet by giving it a title, description, icon, and changing its wallpaper. You can turn on and off users' reactions and comments, as well as make posts require approval before being shown to others. Multiple members can be added as administrators. Padlets can also be shared on Google Classroom, email, a link, a QR code, or on social media. Completed Padelts ca be downloaded as an image, PDF, or a spreadsheet. Padlet is a great way to hear from all students on one or many topics, as well as for students to be able to learn from each other. Padlet can be used as a community building activity where students share about their breaks, a reflection tool for students to share their thoughts after a lesson, a formative assessment tool where students post their thoughts and reflections on an article they read, a communication tool where students share facts they learned about a scientist they were researching, and so much more!
