In amber sky, shine stars of ones passed on.
Through windows we can see the dark of night,
As night starts staring back at time long gone.
Though in our shelter we are blessed by light,
Transient we are, always need to go.
And souls consumed in the fungus about,
Give life to new flowers that have no woe.
Contained within a place by a sea route,
Is all of this: a cycle of the dark,
And light which banishes the dark again.
With docile stars and souls that bare no mark,
Staring at each other to wonder when,
A time will come when they move past the place,
And disappear without leaving a trace.

This sonnet is inspired by my favorite painting by Zdzisław Beksiński which is also entitled AA78.
