who i am

Gardenia Mikhail

I am a place of happiness,

and when the hefty wind lifts me up into the towering trees

I dance to the rhythm of its breeze.

A place where it snows so magically,

you’d think you were the main character in a movie.

A place where if you look up,

you’ll see a sky full of life & notice we’re a world of colors.

A place so happy that the sun would look down and smile at us,

and that often but radiant smile would hug you so tight and so lovingly,

you’d never want it to let go.

A place where everything can become so instant,

sometimes you don’t know why you do the things you do anymore,

and you forget to look up.

Until one day you stop and take a step back,

you look and see that the sun doesn’t smile anymore,

not the way it did before.

And the animated sky has lost its self,

the grey clouds sob longing for it’s identity.

So you go out there and remind it how much a smile is worth,

and you play our song while dancing in the rain,

singing loud enough for the universe to not only hear but listen to you.

You think things have to be real or magic,

but the best things are both.

Gardenia plays soccer and participates in track & field. She takes a health sciences class at the tech school so that hopefully after high school she can start working.
