By Cheydé Faulkner
The adolescent, dainty girl
Cotton candy dreams
With a low self esteem
Wounds on her sleeve
Feeling incomplete
There’s more to discover
That she yearns to see
Attracting broken lovers,
a contagious disease
Hoping just one day,
she succeeds
On the edge of seventeen.
