When I Look into the Water

When I look into the water

I see my face stare back

I see the trees above me

In shades of green and black

The fire that rages in the heart

Destroyed the trees and

Blew the forest apart.

The fire that rages

Also gives me fuel

To do all the things I need to

I see the eyes of someone

who is motivated to win

And the eyes that have seen

All the brutal things

That plague the young mind within

But my reflection does not show

The demons I hide

That burn and glow

I see the burnt remains of the tress

I see the burnt remains of my soul

I close my eyes.

And when I open them

I realize I am home
