Maybe We Are Star Stuff
By Gianna Hercolini
By Gianna Hercolini
From the beginning
of our solar system
We were inevitable.
4.6 billion years
And everything aligned
Perfectly
So we would be together.
From the moment our
Sun exploded
Until the moment
It explodes again.
Maybe we were
Perfectly curated
By God.
Maybe Prometheus
and Eros
Made us for
each other.
Maybe we are
Just leftovers
From the very sun
That shines so
Beautifully
On your deep brown eyes.
To me it doesn't matter
Whether we are just
Stardust
Perfectly molded clay
Or just some descendants
Of Adam and Eve.
Because in every universe,
I would love to see you
And your perfect clay mold.
In every universe,
I would love to see
The stardust
that shines in your eyes.
And in every universe,
I hope
That snake made Eve
Take a bite out of
The forbidden fruit.
And all the events following
Would lead to us.
