To All My Broken Pieces

By Ashley Laub

To all my broken pieces

I’m sorry that I worked you

Until you f e l l a p a r t

I’m sorry that I worked you

Until you s p r e a d o u t o n t h e f l o o r

I’m sorry that I worked you

Until you couldn’t anymore.

To all my broken pieces

I’m sorry that I yelled

Until you couldn’t speak

I’m sorry that I yelled

To make you something you couldn’t be.

I’m sorry that I yelled hatred

Until you didn’t know love anymore

To all my broken pieces

I’m sorry that I hated

Most of all I’m sorry

That now you feel it all

Or too deep to fall.
