Nights Like These

By Cheydé Faulkner

Just you and me

Dirty sneakers and worn out hoodies

Capture an image and say cheese?

So that we can remember this moment for centuries

If only we could freeze

Look at every moment from three-D

An opportunity,

to understand each other fully

This is my ease

Wouldn’t throw judgement on me

You see,

Time seems to go by so easily.

It’s getting late

The sun is down

and the moon is awake

I’ll meet you at this very spot after eight

Can’t help but have this beam on my face

Finding inner peace when we communicate

This is where we get our minds straight

When you call,

I know exactly where to locate.
