I cared for you.
I raised you, cradled you in
My arms, and
I cared for you.
I loved you.
And you said
In your little child voice,
“I love you too,
Mama.”
So why,
Why now,
Do you treat me
Like this?
You throw things
To scar me.
You burn things
To spite me.
You waste things
To hurt me.
You do things
Because you hate me.
Or perhaps,
You’ve simply
Forgotten
The little child
Full of love
You once were.
