Those flower covered slides slid over my feet
Long black socks went up to my knees
They covered the scratches and bruises from outside
I stepped on the back patio ready to wander for a surprise
Though mud stained my socks and dulled my slides
My spirits stayed high and I kept my eyes on the prize
“What prize?” You may ask
Well I haven’t got a clue-
See this prize is no what, how, when, or who--
This prize was much bigger, it grabbed my soul tight
This prize was something around one more corner and just out of sight
It was one of flight, fairy tales and fantastic towers
This was the prize that kept me wandering for hours.
