Description of Course: This course is designed for the highly motivated hands-on student. This class will take an in-depth look at the materials, equipment and procedures involved in the manufacturing of wood products from conceptualization & production through the finished product. Emphasis is placed on the use of wood working machinery, safety, problem solving, design, technology, fabrication, finishing technology and career options in the woodworking field. Students are required to pass safety tests and demonstrate their ability to use the machinery correctly and safely. Students will produce a number of instructor-chosen and developed products/projects, as they get acquainted with the equipment and processes.
