Description of Course: This course is designed for the highly motivated hands-on student who has developed a continuing interest in wood manufacturing, machine and equipment operation and problem solving. In addition to experiences in handling wood material, students are exposed to more in-depth experiences and techniques of manufacturing wood products. This course focuses on the creative application of woodworking skills and the use of the design process to create original works. Overall, this course will introduce students to hand tools as well as portable and stationary power tools. Students will complete group and individual projects designed to provide practical experience in construction theory and woodworking techniques.
