Description of Course: This course is equivalent to a first-semester college course in Computer Science using the Java language. Students will learn problem solving by learning and applying a programming technique known as Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). The major points of emphasis are programming design, algorithm development, classes and methods, and one-and two-dimensional arrays. It is recommended that students taking this course take the Advanced Placement examination in computer science at the end of this course.
