Inclement Weather Closures/Delays – Follow Jeffco Schools

In light of the incoming cold weather, it is a great reminder to review options available to families for inclement weather.  Jefferson Academy follows Jeffco Public Schools for closures and delays.  We will also post it on our website and official social media pages.  In the event of a delayed start, first period classes will not meet and A block will begin at 10:25am.  Faculty and staff are expected to come to the building as safely and quickly as possible. As always, families with young drivers can choose to keep students home with an excused absence.  Please contact the attendance line to notify our office of any absence or tardy due to weather.

Milk Shortages in the District

Jeffco food services shared that the district has been experiencing milk shortages due to supply chain issues.  Unfortunately, these challenges may continue into the holidays and will effect the milk options offered at lunch.  The district and their supplier are working to provide alternate options and solutions to all Jeffco schools, including JA Secondary.

PRINCIPAL NOTES

It was so exciting to see our entire K-12 community at JA Thursday night during Trick or Treat Street. Our Middle and High School students were tremendous hosts, who created a fun, safe and welcoming environments individualized by each of their extra-curricular clubs. They take such pride in creating an experience for our elementary students to look forward to as they progress through JA. We are extremely appreciative of the JA Foundation who supported the evening, by purchasing the candy that was distributed throughout the night.

Speaking of dressing up, Monday the JA Foundation is sponsoring another spirit day with Dress like a '93-'94 movie, book, or music star on October 30th. Spirit Days sponsored by the foundation are leading up to JA's 30 year celebration on Saturday, January 27th. You can purchase tickets now at www.thefoundationforja.org.

HEALTH

Cold and Flu season is upon us....

Cold season is here and we are seeing it at JA Secondary.  Please remember that if your student is not feeling well, has a fever, cold or flu symptoms, please keep them home from school.  This is the best remedy for their health and those around them!

Also, the Secondary is asking for donations of Kleenex for our students and staff.  With many runny noses in the building, we have already used our supply for the semester and it is only October!  Please drop off any donations to the main office.
