Back to School/Meet the Teacher Night is August 21st

Please join us for our Back to School Night on Monday August 21st, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  This is a very casual evening, and you can stop by anytime that evening to meet your student's teachers. Our student clubs and activities are also hosting an activities fair in the Commons where you can learn about extra-curricular opportunities available to get involved this year.

PRINCIPAL NOTES

What a wonderful start to the school year. The halls have been buzzing with energy as our students and staff have been busy getting to know each other and reconnecting. The energy in the building has been incredibly positive and student-centered. It truly has been great to have students back for the first week of school. We hope they are sharing positive stories with you at home as well. Please reach out if there is anything we can do to support your family in making it a fantastic school year.

Fall Sports Athletic Participation Fee

Due to some difficulties with our payment system in Infinite Campus, we are moving the participation fee deadline to Friday, August 25th. If we do not receive payment by that Friday, your student-athlete will not be able to compete in contests until the payment is received. If your family is in need of a payment plan, please contact our business manager, Craig Melville, at cmelville@jajags.com.

Fall Sports Parent Meeting

Thank you to all parents that attended the meeting on the 14th. I really appreciate your involvement and the support. If you could not make it, we will have a link on our athletic website for you to access the power point. This will be coming out next week.

Eligibility

We will be pulling grades for weekly eligibility starting on August 31st. Eligibility report is pulled on Thursday mornings. If the student athlete has one F, they cannot play the following week, Monday through Saturday. If there is a mistake by the teacher, it is the responsibility of the student-athlete to work with his/her teacher to get all grades in question back to satisfactory status. Neither the Athletic Director nor the Coach will intervene on the student's behalf. Please have your student visit the athletic office to obtain an Eligibility Correction Form. You can find more information on page 14 in the Parent/Student Handbook.  If your child is struggling with grades, please let us know so we can put a support system in place.

Attendance

Any student athlete with an unexcused absence on game day is not eligible for athletic competition that day.  For more information, please see page 15 in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Survey

Please take a moment to fill out the parent survey if you have not already done so. This gives me feedback for our Athletic Department.
