PRINCIPAL NOTES

FacebookInstagram

What an exciting week this has already been, with more student events and activities than I could keep up with and still more to come. There really is a place for every kid to find a group of trusted friends at JA.

Looking forward to the end of the quarter, we are excited to open up our doors to families to for parent-teacher conferences that foster a sense of community and create a platform between educators and parents. Thursday night provides an opportunity for parents to engage in their child's academic progress, gaining insights into their strengths and areas for improvement. Jefferson Academy strives to provide ways for our families to be involved in their children's school experience. Whether you attend The Lightning Thief tonight or tomorrow, the girls soccer game at JA or track meet in Lafayette on Saturday, or parent teacher conferences next week, we hope you all know that you are welcome at JA and we recognize the shared responsibility that both parents and teachers play integral roles in shaping the students' academic success and well-being.

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Class of 2025 Families

Planning for senior year is underway!  If your student is taking college classes, due to the timing of Front Range registration, Ms. LeValley has begun the process of meeting with students on their senior year schedules. She will be meeting with juniors not taking college classes in April. In addition to talking about senior year schedules, she will be having general conversations on post-secondary plans. You are welcome to attend the meetings if you desire.  Your child will be the one to schedule the meeting so check with them on their meeting time.

Regarding Senior Seminar (a graduation requirement that all seniors take quarter 1), a packet of information was sent out on Friday via email to all Juniors with information on the summer career shadow as well as other course considerations.  Please reach out to Mr. Thimsen (ethimsen@jajags.com) with any questions.

Do You Speak a Foreign Language?

For the 2024-2025 school year, we are looking for volunteers who feel comfortable having casual conversations in American Sign Language, Chinese, French, German or Latin. To improve the learning experience for those students enrolled in our online world language class options, volunteers would meet/zoom with students once a week to dialogue in that language to help students practice and engage in the content more consistently. Interested? Email Ms. Adams, kadams@jajags.com.

Financial Aid Information Session (Virtual)

Jeffco is hosting a virtual Financial Aid Review Information Session on March 27. Below are the details and the link to join.
