We have had to make a change to Super Testing Day on Wednesday, October 11.  Due to the new digital testing platform for PSAT NMSQT and PSAT 9-we will have a morning and afternoon session due to WiFi capabilities for digital testing.

Again there will be NO SCHOOL for junior high and for 12th grade students on that day.

REMINDER - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4th IS A LATE START

On Wednesday, October 4th we have a late start.  There is no first hour and A Block classes begin at 10:25 a.m.

Fall Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 11th.  If you have concerns about your student that can be addressed in a quick conference, please make plans to attend from 3:30pm to 5:30pm or 6:15pm to 7:30pm to drop-in.  If your student is doing well and you have no concerns, we encourage you to spend an evening celebrating their success.  If you have concerns that will take longer to discuss, please contact the teacher to set up an appointment.

PRINCIPAL NOTES

What a fun week ahead. Homecoming is such a great event for our school community and our student government has put in so much time and energy to ensure it is a superb experience for all students at JA. This year's STUGO goal is to inspire spirit in the student body through a week of school events culminating with the Homecoming Dance. I have no doubt that they will accomplish this goal.

At JA, both junior high and high school students can participate in most activities. The exception being movie night on Wednesday and the formal dance on Saturday which are both high school student only events. We are excited to see our junior high students participate in spirit days and at the sporting events throughout the week. You can find info on all the week's events in the Activities Section below.

Friday will be the Homecoming assembly and Fall Fest. Fall Fest is a National Honor Society sponsored afternoon of games, food and socializing with teachers and peers. All activities take place on school grounds and students are to remain on campus for the entire event. We will share photos next week of all the great happenings and hope you hear about them each night as your child comes home.

Specifically, students who have a first period, with the doors opening at 7:25 a.m. make sure you are prepared to stay warm should you be dropped off prior to that time.

Additionally, JA will follow Jeffco's lead in regard to inclement weather that may postpone school or lead to 2-hour late starts. Should the district announce a change in schedule due to weather you can find it posted on the school's website,  social media, through the school's phone auto-dialer, and on the news. For 2-hour late starts, there will be no first hour and classes will begin at 10:25 a.m.
