november 10, 2023
We will not have a JA Newsletter Friday, the 17th. The next JA Newsletter will be posted on November 26th as students return to school following Thanksgiving break.
PRINCIPAL NOTES
With Veterans Day tomorrow it is important to take a moment to recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice to fight for our country. Each year as JA students graduate, we see those who continue their education within our armed forces. In addition veterans in our community are husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, sisters, and brothers. They remind each of us to teach our students the notion that service is vital in our community. While it is important that we honor veterans each November, our demonstrations of honor and gratitude for their service must be constant.
We must actively and intentionally keep in the minds of our children the history and the stories of our veterans’ unique service. We must teach them how our veterans answered the call of duty, disrupted their lives, left their families and friends, suffered physical, social, and emotional wounds, witnessed the unimaginable, and, in some cases, made the supreme sacrifice. We must teach them that gratitude involves more than words, and while we will always express our thanks, we must show them that true gratitude involves taking action, and not just once a year. Our gratitude must be constant, ongoing, and active.

HS Volleyball
Congratulations to our Varsity Jaguar Volleyball Team for earning a spot in the CHSAA state playoffs, a feat no other JA volleyball team has ever accomplished. They ended their phenomenal season today after being defeated by Resurrection Christian last night and #9 seeded Lamar this morning. We are incredibly thankful to our players and coaches for their hard work. The amount of growth, leadership, and comradery shown over the last weeks has been something truly special to witness. We couldn't be more proud of our volleyball team and what they accomplished this year.

Senior Class Staff Appreciation Lunch - November
It's the Class of 2024's families' last chance to thank our JA staff with our final staff appreciation lunch in November. Our theme is "Thankful Seniors" and we would appreciate it if each family would commit to a small donation. $5-$10 per family would ensure that we can really show our appreciation one last time! Please donate via CheddarUp at https://hospitality-donations-41526.cheddarup.com, or drop off an envelope in the office indicating "Senior lunch donation for Boosters." Thank you!

Warren Tech - What is Warren Tech?
It is the designated Career and Technical education center for Jeffco that offers 36 innovative programs. Students work with experienced faculty and industry partners to engage in real-world professional projects, internships, and apprenticeships. Every Warren Tech student is taught Post-Secondary Workforce Readiness skills, and students can earn college credit and industry certifications.
Juniors and seniors would attend Warren Tech Central, North, or South (depending on your program) for half the day and JA for the other half. Most credits earned at Warren Tech count toward graduation elective credits.
Warren Tech is visiting JA on November 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the library.
Another opportunity to learn more: Open House: December 6, 2023, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at each of the Warren Tech Campuses. No registration is required. The Open House is a great way to experience Warren Tech as a potential student, and it is highly recommended! This is a self-guided experience, but there are informational presentations throughout the evening.

Parking, Pick Up & Drop Off Reminders
Our neighbors at MKS have informed us that students and parents are continuing to park in their parking lot during the day and during pick-up after school. As a reminder, the MKS lot is private and parents and students should not be parking there at anytime during the day or in the evenings. Our neighbor's parking lots are not school approved pick up zones. Please pick students up in the JA parking lot, or along the streets with designated bike lanes.
