Reception
Reception is where learners can start to develop their understanding of using technology to create work.
The Ideas shared within this section are based on the progression map example, this does not mean that these should be taken as expectations, but as possibilities.
Continuing with using the JIT app in Just2Easy, learners can begin to progress in their understanding and use of their digital skills.

Writing
Learners could start to use the writing app to start to understand typing skills, if they are copying text they will start to understand the function of adding spaces between words.
Paint
Learners can continue to create images, thinking about changing the brush size and changing the size of the additional features they add.
This is also how they can continue to understand how to save their work, by clicking on the 'floppy disk' it will save their creations.
Storage
Learners can develop their understanding that the work they have created digitally is saved online, they can begin to be told that anything that is created online leaves a digital footprint.
They should know that the work can be reopened and edited.
Coding
Learners can continue to experiment with coding sprites on the screen.
They will be able to see how their actions have an impact on the sprite and how it interacts with its environment.
Data Handling
Learners can start to understand that the information they gather can be seen in different ways.
This can allow learners to start to answer and ask questions about the data they have collected.
Sorting
Learners can start to understand sorting and organising through the use of branch diagrams.
They can start by answering questions on those already created, and begin to think about how they can be broken down with different questions.

Presentations
Learners can begin to experience how presentations are made, they can support the class teacher with ideas, and the organisation of the elements within.
The idea would be that learners start to understand what is possible and can apply this in later years.
Additional apps
Britannica Education
Learners can start to understand searching for information from a trusted source. They can use keywords to search for information on areas covered in class.
This is something that can be done with the class teacher, as an introduction to how to make use of searching for information.
