DCF & LNF Tracking

How does your school identify the opportunities afforded to your learners from the Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Competency Frameworks?

Using a tracking document, staff can identify the activities they have used in class. This will allow the school to understand its coverage of the LNF and DCF, identifying where there may be gaps in the opportunities provided to your learners.

By completing a tracker at the end of a half term/term, staff can record what has been done in the classroom. This will also allow staff to become more familiar with these Frameworks as they complete them.

The examples shown below also have the benefit of being on a single sheet, this removes the need to click between aspects of the progression step their learners are working at.

For the purpose of these examples, the progression steps have been broken down to the approximations corresponding to expectations at ages 5, 8, 11, 14 and 16. As identified in the Introduction to Curriculum for Wales Guidance.

However, for example, if a year 4 class was working at a lower expectation, the teacher could use the Progression Step 2 statements.

A template example can be downloaded and altered for your school, here for Google and here for Microsoft for the progression steps most relevant to your school.
