Classroom Ideas

Here are links to some Classroom Ideas, they have been broken down into some different ways:

It is important to know that these ideas are by no means an exhaustive list, these ideas should be used as an example of what is possible, and they can be adapted to suit the topics being covered in the classroom.

Learners should have the opportunity to choose how they want to show their understanding, however, they must continue to develop a deeper understanding of as many tools as possible and not be able to choose just one method of creating their work time after time.

The SAMR model identifies different levels of using technology in the classroom activities chosen by the teacher. Learners can be asked to use technology to show their understanding at different levels, from, Substitution, where the technology allows the current classroom practices to be completed on a digital device. To, Redefinition, where what learners can create to achieve their learning objective or show their understanding of the success criteria.

Ideas on this page have been separated into AOLEs, the tools on this page have been separated into traditional subject areas, and show how apps can be used to allow learners to be creative. These apps can be used in collaboration with others to allow them to 'app-smash', for example, music creation tools can be used to allow learners to compose the backing tracks to video presentations they have created, or, use a drawing tool to create a logo which can be used in other pieces of work.

Ideas on these pages have been split into year groups. It is hoped these can be used as a starting point for staff who would like a little support. The ideas for using the Hwb tools are split into the Apps available, teachers will need to adapt the use to the topics/themes they are covering in the classroom.

Schools can identify where they have introduced the apps in their progression maps and staff can find examples that will support their development.
