Hoffem ni (Data Cymru) gyflwyno Addysg DataBasic - adnodd hyfforddiant dwyieithog, am ddim (https://www.databasiceducation.cymru/en_CY/) i helpu ysgolion a disgyblion ledled Cymru i ddatblygu sgiliau llythrennedd data a gwybodaeth. Rydym wedi creu’r adnodd mewn partneriaeth â Chonsortiwm Canolbarth y De ac mae’n cael ei adolygu ar hyn o bryd ar gyfer ei gyhoeddi ar Hwb. 

Adnodd ar-lein yw Addysg DataBasic a gafodd ei ddylunio i feithrin sgiliau ym meysydd: 

·                     Adnabod a deall mathau gwahanol o ddata  

·                     Holi data  

·                     Rheoli a dadansoddi mathau o ddata  

·                     Deall y gynulleidfa a beth yw eu hanghenion o ran data  

·                     Dweud storïau a / neu lunio dadleuon gan ddefnyddio data  

·                     Gwerthuso a chreu delweddiadau data effeithiol. 

Nod yr adnodd yw eich helpu i ddatblygu a sicrhau cynnydd yn y sgiliau hyn ar draws pob maes pwnc. Nid adnodd mathemateg yn unig yw hwn!  

Mae 11 o weithgareddau difyr a chreadigol, pob un yn para rhwng 20 a 45 munud. Mae’r gweithgareddau wedi’u dylunio i gael eu harwain gan athro/athrawes a chewch eich annog i nodi’r gweithgaredd sy’n fwyaf addas i’r data rydych yn gweithio gydag ef a’r canlyniad dysgu mae’r disgyblion yn canolbwyntio arno. Yn ogystal, mae cyfarwyddiadau cam wrth gam i chi am sut i gynnal y gweithgareddau. 

Yn ôl Sarah Summers, Arweinydd Maes ar gyfer Dysgu Digidol, Consortiwm Canolbarth y De “Mae offeryn gwe Databasics yn adnodd eithriadol i addysgwyr. Mae’r adnodd o fudd i addysgu a dysgu fel ei gilydd…Agwedd gyffrous yr offeryn gwe fel adnodd addysgu a dysgu yw ei fod yn cynnig cyfleoedd ystyrlon i ddata gael ei gymhwyso a’i drosglwyddo ar draws llawer o ddisgyblaethau o fewn y Cwricwlwm i Gymru…sy’n ei wneud yn offeryn hygyrch a theg gwych i ysgolion yng Nghymru.“

We (Data Cymru) would like to introduce DataBasic Education - a free, bilingual training resource (https://www.databasiceducation.cymru/en_CY/) to help schools and pupils across Wales develop data and information literacy skills. We have created the resource in partnership the Central South Consortium and it is currently being reviewed for publication on Hwb. 

DataBasic Education is an online resource designed to develop skills in the following areas: 

·                     Recognising and understanding different types of data  

·                     Interrogating data  

·                     Managing and analysing different types of data  

·                     Understanding the audience and what their data needs are  

·                     Telling stories and / or building arguments using data  

·                     Evaluating and creating effective data visualisations. 

The resource aims to help you develop and ensure progression in these skills across all subject areas. This is not just a maths resource!  

There are 11 fun and creative activities, each lasting between 20 and 45 minutes. The activities are designed to be teacher-led and you are encouraged to identify the activity that best suits the data you are working with, and the learning outcome pupils are focusing on. There are also step-by-step instructions for you on how to run the activities.

Note: The DataBasic Education training resource is based on the ‘Data Culture Project’ and DataBasic which were developed by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to help organisations build their data culture.
