Design Tech

On this page, you will find ideas that support the 'Design & Technology' aspects of the Expressive Arts AOLE.

The examples here are ideas of how technology could be used. This is not an extensive list of ways teachers can use technology to enhance their teaching, but an introduction to how some apps could be used.

Adobe Express

Using Adobe Express, learners can use the Text to Image feature to generate images as the base of an idea. This could be used to create images of ideas for solutions to design briefs.

By 'tweaking' prompts, learners will be able to make edits to the generated images.

Learners could create videos, posters or web pages on what they have designed.

Using Adobe, learners can create videos as presentations of the design brief they have fulfilled.

Britannica Education

Learners could use Britannica Education to research areas of interest that support the design brief.

Google/Office365

Learners could use a word processor to create a write-up or a script for a video presentation.

Learners could create a presentation on what they have created, these could then be recorded using a Screen recorder.

Learners can create spreadsheets which cover the costings of their designs for possible mass production.

Minecraft

Minecraft allows learners to create their ideas using Minecraft, there are several worlds with Design Technology as inspiration.
