Most of our colleagues are back from holidays, and even the sunny days are lying behind us. But a new box week is about to start, and this means also a brand new Production Newsletter this week for you to read!

Production updates
Box size test
Few weeks ago, we did the first test of shorter boxes (project “Vacuum”) at GC Dedicated routes. Due to the adjusted box length (57cm vs 48cm) we are able to stack 6 boxes per block pallet layer instead of currently 5 boxes per layer. Once/if we go live with these new boxes for whole production, this would bring huge savings at our Last Mile (delivering the boxes from DC to Customer).
However, we are still quite far from this goal, and that is why we will conclude this 2nd test, where we will measure closely the impact of the line speeds, the fullness of the box, and other factors, that impact the Production.

Arbodienst (Adviseur Arbeid & Gezondheid)

Food & Quality, Health & Safety updates week 36
Evacuation training
Another round of BHV trainings for the BHV Team Leads and Lineleads was completed at the start of boxweek 38.
Thursday, the 13th of September, around 20 Teamleads & Line Leads followed the Evacuation training as part of the BHV training program. During this training they learned how to support our BHV+ team during an evacuation and where the emergency exits are located in the DC.
So another group of colleagues which can give us in case of an emergency!
Hygiene rules for driving equipment
Hygiene is an important topic at our DC as we are daily working with food 🍏🌮🍓.
Next to personal hygiene, hygiene of incoming goods and hygiene on the production line, hygiene of our driving equipments should not be ignored.
For our driving equipment (EPT’s, Forklifts, Reachtrucks and pump trucks), the hygiene rules are as follow:
🧽 Equipment should be clean an free of any type of dirt
✂️ Equipment should be free of stickers
🍬 It’s not allowed to eat or drink anything
Driving equipment hygiene is checked during the GMP walks and results are always reported to team leads.

Fresh toilets
Last Wednesday and Thursday, a major cleaning took place in our toilet units.
The facility department also took this moment to replace all toilet seats, so everything is neat and super clean again!
To enjoy this for an extra long time;
Please clean up after use, the next person also wants to sit on a clean toilet. In dutch we have a nice quote about this:
" Als je hebt gezeten hoeft niemand dit te weten, dus draai je om en haal de borstel door de kom."

Health & Safety Week: September 23-29 💚
We are in full preparation for Health & Safety week. The program with workshops, HSE Quiz with great prizes, our own Production football cup and an on-site ‘ Fair’ is almost complete. Communication will follow soon, so keep a close eye on your e-mail and newsletter over the next two weeks!
