Hi everyone,
What a great time we had together at last Wednesday’s Summer Event!
In this newsletter, you’ll find a fun recap, including a link to all the photos.
We also have a few important updates to share with you, such as a chance to reply for the BHV+, the first SCC weekly update, the World Food Safety Day Quizzes and much more!

Production updates
SCC weekly update
The last couple of weeks, we have faced some issues and challenges with our meat suppliers Groenland Kip and Storteboom, them delivering shortages pre-production and long delays in the redeliveries. This has caused some serious problems for us, not being able to pick & pack everything on time and in full. We have been in contact with them to take thorough measures, trying to prevent as much issues in the coming weeks as possible. We've discussed the following with Storteboom:
They will prioritize HelloFresh and therefor minimize the volume and amount of different products they produce for supermarkets
In case they experience issues they will be more transparant on arrival times + split the volume of the redelivery with couriers, so we at least have some products inbounded to start kitting
We will have a weekly meeting with them to discuss and improve performance
Last Saturday (31st May), we had an internet malfunction in the DC. This affected our operational work, not making the prep team able to make use of the DSL, our Inbound team counting the products in WMS and SCC monitoring all deliveries on OTIFIQ. Due to our rapid adaptability, we managed to prep & finish production without too much problems. A big shoutout to all people involved.
Due to Ascension Day, there had been a change regarding the ordering of our products in W23. For some production days, this was done on Monday, where this normally happens on Thursday. Customers were still able to adjust their menus until Thursday, which is why SCC and Procurement did their utmost on Thursday and during the weekend to reorder all products and have them delivered on time. Fortunately, many of the suppliers were able to help out.
SCC and Procurement are discussing how we can better prevent this with other holidays!
Update Project Gogeta - Milestones & Timelines
What is Project Gogeta?
Currently we are unable to mix different brands onto 1 pallet (in the right sequence), which leads to inefficient routes (dedicated routes), and thus increased costs, in our Logistics, see the image below:
Dedicated routes means that each brand is delivered by a separate van (and driver), even if the routes overlap (e.g. 2 vans would be needed to deliver FA & HF boxes to 2 neighbours, 1 with a FA subscription and 1 with a HF subscription).
Gogeta is the project that aims to enable mixed brand sequencing in Production, and thus mixed routes in our Logistics, see image below as an example of what that would look like:
So, how do we plan on enabling mixed brand sequencing?
There are a lot of changes required to enable mixed brand sequencing in Production and mixed routes in Logistics. Many of these changes have already been made (e.g. new prep outputs, project Facelift, new sequencing tool, etc.). However, there are still a significant amount of (final) changes that we need to perform to achieve the project goal. In order to make these changes actionable, and ensure operational stability, we have split these changes into 6 (sub)milestones, see image below:
For each launch (numbered 1 - 6), separate communication will be sent out, below you can find the current planning/ total timelines in which we aim to achieve all these rollouts (we are currently in Calendar week 23):

🍰 Food Safety Celebration 🍰
⚠️ LowLast Monday, we enjoyed some sweet treats to celebrate not just one, but two amazing highlights!
Not only did we kick-off the Food Safety Day (which is officially June 7th)
But we also celebrated achieving an AA Score on the BRC Audit!
Again BIG THANKS to all the teams in our DC and Schiedam warehouse environment!
This shows the hard work, teamwork and dedication that goes into keeping our food safe every single day!

On 7th June, we join the global community in celebrating World Food Safety Day. This is an opportunity to reflect on the vital role each of us plays in keeping our food safe every day.
This Year’s Theme: “Food Safety: Science in Action”.
This year’s theme reminds us that food safety happens in every action we take.
In line with this theme, we have focussed on the following fundamentals applicable to HelloFresh:
CLEAN 🧼: Good hygiene prevents contamination
CHILL ❄️ : Cold temperatures slow bacteria from growing
CHECK ✅: Vigilant inspection prevents food safety risks
Every clean hand, every closed dock door, every quality check is science in action

What a great day it was! Thanks to your enthusiasm, presence and positive energy, we can proudly look back on a very successful Summer Fair last Wednesday.
There was plenty to do: Children could have fun on the bouncy cushions and bungee trampoline, transform into their favourite hero or animal at the face painting, laugh in the mini circus and have themselves captured by our caricature artist - with sometimes hilarious results!

Roof and Facede Completed!
We’re excited to share that we are coming close to a major milestone in the "De Kas" project: the completion of the roof and facade.
