What’s happening this week?

To enable the mixed routes for Factor, many changes are made in our linehaul (pendel) planning and production batchplan (sequencing setup). In terms of batchplan, we will be injecting Factor boxes onto the Green Chef line (where there will be the least amount of impact on productivity). This means that our Production sequencing setup (batchplan) will consist of 3 stages, and look as follows:

Important to note, as you can see in the image, small Factor boxes will be stacked at the end, on top of the consolidated 2P pallets. We will do this as the small Factor boxes have a different format (footprint) than all other boxes, and thus cannot be injected inbetween the other boxes.

“Soft-Launch”?

As it is  the first time we are mixing all brands together, we want to test it carefully. This will be the objective of the soft-launch, and if that goes well, we will hard-launch (full go-live) in boxweek 30. Below you can find the rollout plan for the soft-launch this boxweek (29):

WMS 2.0 - further rollout

This week, we conducted several training sessions focused on WMS 2.0, our next major milestone.

As part of the training, we carried out test runs in the ambient hall. During these tests, pallets were labeled—referred to in WMS as "palletized"—by assigning each a License Plate, enabling full traceability as they move through our distribution center.

Another key focus was the truck unloading process, which will now be managed using RF scanners. This marks the first step in phasing out the Kanban system. In addition to streamlining operations, the switch to RF unloading also improves overall safety for all drivers.
