Production updates
All about packaging!
This week was all about packaging. First, on Monday, our supplier Mailstreet visited us for a tour. The goal of this visit was to show them how our process works and to explain why it is important for everything to be delivered on time and in the correct sequence. They were impressed by our production process and it was nice to have them around!
On Tuesday, Arthur and Ilaria from the Global packaging team came to Bleiswijk. They had not been here before, so it was a great opportunity to show them how things work on our end. Additionally, a potential new tape supplier also visited for some tests. Many thanks to Rafal and Kamilla, among others, for their support during the testing!
On Wednesday, a visit to Jong Verpakkingen was scheduled, one of our meal box suppliers. After a presentation about the company, we received an extensive tour of their production facility.
Pre-op-check transport equipment
Box week 4 will see the start of the pre-op check for some transportation equipment.
What does this mean?
It is a visual check that should be done with every new registration on the transport equipment.
There are 5 questions, which must be answered yes or no.
When nothing is noteworthy, the EPT, hef, or reach truck will activate. If it is visible, the system will ask to take a picture of the damage. After taking the photo, EPT, lift, or reach truck will be activated.
Should the damage be of this nature, the truck will lock, it can only be unlocked by authorized personnel (MotracLinde or TD).
In this way, we can keep even better track of who has been driving a vehicle. This also allows us to keep track of when the damage occurred.

Installation of Safety swing gates
On the walking path between Inbound and Production (at the crossing points) the remaining sets of Safety swing gates will be installed on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 January. These gates serve as physical barrier, requiring pedestrians to pull the gate towards them. This creates a deliberate stopping moment before crossing, leading to a safer situation.
Please be aware that these gates are only placed at the official EPT routes: recognizable by the yellow lines. To make sure there will not be unsafe situations at the crossing points at the remaining doors (X on the floorplan), we ask you to keep the remaining doors closed and blocked with the yellow/black chain at all time.

Blue Monday tips
What is the best thing you can do to beat the blues? We give you a few tips and tricks to beat the upcoming blue Monday on the 20th of January!
Tip 1
Take a good and healthy breakfast. This helps against concentration problems and mood swings. Choose tasty and healthy foods and take a walk outside after eating. That way you will feel fresh and fit all day!
Tip 2
Give your day a positive boost by allowing yourself something. For instance, meet with a friend despite your busy schedule, treat yourself to a cup of hot chocolate, make your favorite food. In short, do at least one thing today that makes you feel good.
Tip 3
By exercising or moving for just half an hour, you can brighten your own mood. Exercising releases happy chemicals in your body that break down stress and make you feel less depressed. Pro tip; Actively tidy up the house. That way you still get your exercise and immediately have a clean house.
Tip 4
Be friendly to everyone around you and give them a smile.
Giving and receiving kindness does everyone good and smiling makes you feel nice and creates a positive effect on your mood.
Jasper joined OpEx!
As of January 1st, Jasper officially joined the OpEx Production Team as a Jr. OpEx Engineer. Having been with HelloFresh since 2021, he has gained extensive knowledge in the Material Planning and Internal Transport domains. Initially starting as an Expedition Employee, followed by Material Planning Coordinator, Jasper soon became known as the tool expert for ICS. His expertise in tools and systems has enabled him to step into the role of Business Owner. Last year, Jasper focused on process improvement and created a blueprint for OTIFIQ measurement and visualization.
Joining the OpEx team was a natural progression, as Jasper has demonstrated his process knowledge, project management abilities, and commitment to continuous improvement. Over the coming months, he will focus on WMS 2.0 as a process expert for the Internal Transport domain and lead the De Kas Gap Analysis, an essential project to define the focus areas for De Kas' go-live.
Fun fact: Jasper is an avid bowler and competes at a high level! 🎳
Wishing you the best of luck in your new role, Jasper!
