Warehouse Engineering blog
Hi there,
Hereby another long-awaited Warehouse Engineering blog (formerly known as Ops-Tech)!
For the next phase of WMS 2.0, Dan Butler, our Hardware Engineer, has started preparing all the hardware that will be used by the Inbounding and Internal Transport teams. This hardware includes:
ZD420 printers for printing pallet labels (similar to the printers we use at the end of our kitting lines)
MC93 hand scanners for scanning pallet labels, unloading linehauls, and processing statuses in WMS 2.0
ET40 tablets for creating and updating actions such as new replenishment tasks, adjusting task priorities, and generating warehouse management progress overviews in WMS 2.0
The preparation involves switching operating systems (e.g., from Windows to Android), upgrading or downgrading software to the required versions, assembling and mounting the various hardware components, and much more.
Best regards,
Team Warehouse Engineering
FACTOR production to Verden
Today we have packed the last boxes for Factor Nordics.
From next week these boxes will be packed in Verden (Germany)
Factor is already packing boxes for the German market there, and moving the packing process of Factor Nordics to Germany will be more efficient in costs for Logistics.
Fun facts
We started with Factor for Nordics market in BW15 of 2024. It started with just 58 boxes, and had grown up to 3354 boxes at highest.
Soon Factor BNL will open more delivery/production days, so we will fill our Friday back 😉.
Thanks to all people involved into maintaining this marvelous process for the past year 🎉.

SKAL BIO audit result
Last Friday the 20th of June, SKAL visited our production locations in Bleiswijk and Schiedam for the annual BIO audit.
In the end, we scored 'only' 1 minor non conformity resulting in a successful completed audit with a 'passed score' 🎉. The 1 minor non conformity is related to our WMS2.0 QC inbound module where the control question on BIO (is the product BIO?) is missing - we will follow up this topic with the International FSQA team.
With this SKAL audit, the 2025 Food Safety Audit period has come to an end 🏁.
We’ve made massive progress compared to last years and really stepped up our game 📈.
BIG THANKS to all the teams for your work during all the audits 👏 . We could not have done it without you 🚀!
🚨Fire Alarm Saturday, June, 21th 🚨
Last Saturday the DC Fire alarm went off. Luckily there was no fire or any other dangerous situation. The BHV team followed the procedure and conducted an evacuation to ensure everyone’s safety. However, as you might have noticed, restoring the alarm did not go smoothly.
We found out that the panel behind Assembly Line A was pushed inside but concluded that this was not done by a human action. Unfortunately, we were not able to restore the alarm ourselves and as a result of a malfunction a technician had to come on site to solve this issue.
Possibly, the alarm could have been damaged due to a (previous) collision with the fire panel. In the event of an accidental bump with either the fire- or evacuation alarm unit during your work, (Even if this did not set off the alarm) please immediately notify a member of the BHV team so they can report it and a specialist can check whether the unit shows damage.
Thanks to all of you following up the BHV instructions during the evacuation!

He successfully completed all three parts: swimming, cycling, and running. Within a very good time as well!
A great achievement! Well done, Stefan!
