Welcome to this week’s newsletter!
We’ll update you on the progress at de Kas and share some recent photos to give you a look behind-the-scenes. We’re also focusing on safe and healthy working with a useful tip on ergonomics. In addition, you'll find the latest update on the pre-op check, and we’re happy to introduce a new colleague to the team!

Production updates
De Kas update
This week, we again visited our construction site at De Kas – and a lot has happened! The build is progressing rapidly and visibly: the opening from the hygiene room to the skywalk has been completed, the toilets and control tower in the production hall are taking shape, and the wall separating the chilled and ambient areas has been constructed. In addition, the first dock doors at the inbound area are now being installed.
One highlight worth mentioning: the view from the entrance onto the skywalk is truly impressive – it gives a real sense of the scale and potential of our new facility. It’s great to see how each step brings us closer to completion.

Safety tip - Ergonomics
⚠️ The work in our DC involves lifting heavy crates and boxes, repetitive movements during pick-and-pack and long periods of standing. Combined with the cold, this can take a toll on your body. Unfortunately, this has led to discomfort, strain and, in some cases, even to injuries.
✅ By being aware of this health risk and making some small adjustments to your way of working, you can prevent this from happening to you too!

Pre-Op-Check scissor lifts / hoogwerkers
A few weeks ago you could read about the update of the pre-op-check for our EPT’s. This update is about the next group of vehicles: scissor lifts / hoogwerkers. From now on a pre-op-check is mandatory before each use. You can find a QR-code on the vehicles (see pictures). Scan this QR-code with your phone and answer the questions.
Next steps:
The goal is to implement a similar check for all remaining vehicles we use in our DC. We’re working on a way to implement this also for the forklifts and reach trucks.
Having a pre-op-check is a requirement from the HelloFresh H&S Compliance audit, which will be in October / November this year.

NEW JOINER! Milco Meere
Hi, I'm Milco Meere. After almost 5 years in the supplier-facing FSQA team, I joined the FSQA team at the Distribution Center on August 1st. Alongside Eva and Danielle, I will serve as the Senior FSQA DC Specialist, and I will be covering some of Danielle's tasks during her maternity leave.
I live in Zoetermeer, just 10 minutes away from the DC. Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my girlfriend and our two young boys. In my free time, I enjoy running once or twice a week and attending home games to support my favorite football club, Feyenoord.
