Production Updates
OpEx Maturity Assessment Update
Last week we had the Maturity Assessment performed by the Opex International Team.
Thanks for everyone who freed up their time for that, really appreciated.
We have been assessed with a score of 1.67 against 1.24 in December 2022, representing an increase of 35% in 7 months! With the challenges/ business changes we had in Q1/Q2 (DC Merge + Launch Factor_) we can be proud of our achievement.
We mainly improved on the following two areas :
- Continuous Improvement/CI Roadmap : our central project list and way of working (prioritization & focus) implemented since the beginning of this year gave us a score from 0 to 2.50 on this sub element. Still wondering what is it ? You can find the details of this process in this presentation
- Roles and Responsibilities : In Q1&Q2 we have worked on the roles definition for the team leads, line leads and senior, setting up our foundation in this topic to grow further. Thanks to everyone involved in this project, more to come on that topic in Q3/Q4!
Here you can see a detailed overview of the score. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the Opex Team!
Factor_Reflection on MoM Performance
Total orders: With only a difference of 1 order between week 28 and week 30, we see the volume starting to grow up to 245 orders and 1932 picks in W31!
Orders per hour: Looking at the total orders produced per hour, we still need to improve. Our target speed is reaching at least 500 boxes per hour on average. However, we expect to further increase the line speed once the order count increases and get the line up to speed. Besides order count, we are focusing on finding the sweet spot in the current workstation setup. FACTOR is being produced on only 3 out of the 10 working stations. We are running weekly tests in closing stations in between FACTOR stations and evaluating which setup fits the best to the current production methodology. Below, on outstanding topics, a more detailed overview of the production setup is explained.
NVA/VA minutes per order: Minutes per box directly reflect on the total orders produced per hour. After a hike up in W29 we see the numbers coming down to a total of 3.48 minutes per box in W31. In the coming weeks, we will be more focused on reducing the total minutes spent per box by optimizing FTE planning and improving the current process.
Shortages: In the first 5 weeks we had 0 shortages!

HR Postbox
As of this week, a postbox of HR is hanging on the 1st floor.
Do you have mail for HR and they are not there? You can put your paperwork in here, so you can be sure that it gets to the right place.
HR will empty this mailbox daily Monday to Friday.
Work Schedules in AFAS.
As you may have heard, our HR team is checking the work schedules in AFAS.
It is our understanding that not everyone's schedule is set correctly, which affects your sick days and leave balance. HR is changing the schedules as of 07/06/2023 because that is when the merge between our DCs was completed. By adjusting the schedules, we are ensuring that all balances are calculated fairly. This may mean that your leave balance will change. Your manager informed HR about your work schedule. If Necessary, your schedule will be adjusted.
After the schedules have been adjusted, HR will also do a check in Flux so that everything is correct there as well.
If you have any questions about this, please come by or send an email to the HR team!
Ultimo Tablet Production Canteen
As of this week, you can find a tablet in the canteen to make a report in Ultimo.
Because we want to encourage you to report to us via ultimo, we have now linked a general account to the tablet. This allows anyone to make a report at any time (also annonymous).
Next to the tablet you can find instructions on how to make a report for FM/TD or a report of incidents/observations for HSE!
Foodbank
In a previous newsletter, we announced that we would like to volunteer at the food bank. The dates have now been set:
06-10-2023
05-01-2024
05-04-2024
07-07-2024
04-10-2024
A sign up sheet will be shared later. But by announcing the dates, you can keep your calendar clear in advance!
Parking around the DC
Last week, local authorities knocked on our door regarding the parking next to our building. They have been keeping an eye on it for a while now, and unfortunately the conclusion is that there is a lot of frequent wrong parking. We want to inform you all about this situation and make sure you avoid expensive fines.
Please, only park in the designated parking spaces. So do not park along the street, on pavements or in multiple parking spaces.

Cath's Summer Chill Checklist
Summertime is here! After a long workday, it's very important to take some time to relax. Do you also want to close your workday with a chill? Stay tuned!
This summer, Cathelijne is happy to share her summer chill checklist with us. So all summer long, you will find this fun column with a new tip every week.
Mainly because she is thrilled to share all of her tips with you, and of course we are happy to learn some more about Cathelijne and expand our horizon of interests.
Looking at the weather forecast for the coming two weeks, there's finally end at the light of the tunnel, or in other words - summer is coming!
Hopefully we can soon leave our raincoats and umbrellas at home and take out the sunglasses and flipflops again.
To make it feel like summer again, hereby a nice Summer Cocktail recipe that only requires 2 ingredients! Of course, also possible to make it without alcohol!
