New boxweek, new newsletter! We're heading towards the end of June and the summer has finally started! In this edition you can read about the activities at our own summer event, a recap to the DNA Speed and Agility, the Keti Koti Day, and much more!

June - The month of Speed & Agility
June has flown by, and it's time for our monthly recap on speed and agility! 🚀
We've read some fantastic interviews with Maria and Renee, where they shared what speed and agility mean to them. Their insights were truly inspiring! Our quality checkers gave us a unique peek into their work and the value of being speedy and agile. It was amazing to see how they keep everything running smoothly!
Plus, you all had some great discussions in your teams, sharing examples of how you're working with speed and agility every day. Here are a few highlights:
Noodle packaging issue: When we faced a problem with noodle packaging, our team joined forces to conduct a full check on the delivery within 30 minutes, ensuring that production wasn't held up for too long. Quick thinking and teamwork at its best!
Internal Transport training: A shoutout to Joanna, Edijs, Monika, Patryk, and Tomasz! After receiving training in the early afternoon, they immediately put their new knowledge to work. This led to significant improvements in process adherence and reduced lead times. Way to go!
BRC Audit: During the BRC Audit, everyone cleared their schedules to answer questions promptly or find the answers quickly. This dedication ensured a smooth and efficient audit process.
Chimera KanBan 1.0 rollout: Kudos to Miguel for his incredible work during the implementation of Chimera KanBan 1.0. He identified and fixed multiple bugs on the spot, developed new functionalities, and reworked the tool entirely within 1-2 days after the testing phase to ensure it was ready for the full rollout.
Keep up the fantastic work, and let's continue to embody speed and agility in everything we do!

The Follow up incidents
Sadly we had some incidents in the last couple of weeks which resulted in lost time. We try our best to prevent anyone from getting hurt, but if it happens our goal is to improve our ways of working to make sure it won’t happen again!
Falling crates
While putting a stack of empty crates on a pallet, some crates fell down. As of today we will start testing a lower maximum height of our internal empty crates. Instead of putting columns of 80 crates we will only put 70 crates on top of eachother. Also if the stack is too high to reach: use a step instead of lifting multiple crates high above your head or ask for help from a colleague who is a bit taller than you !
Broken step
Everyday a lot of colleagues use a step to reach the kitting/consolidation lines. Unfortunately one of the steps was damaged and broke while used. Last week the technical department has checked all the steps for damages! But you can also help: before you step on just take a quick look if it is in correct shape. In general you can call it an extra safety tip from Larry the Lime: always check your tools and equipment before using them! And if something is damaged, don’t use it and report it directly to your Teamlead.
Incidents happen, but let’s make sure we learn from it!

Production Updates
Second All Hands meeting
On Tuesday, we wrapped up our second All Hands meeting! Over two days, we connected with around 700 colleagues in five different languages. An amazing effort put together by the team.
A huge shoutout to our amazing speakers: Lee, Antonio, Semere, Wiebe, Pawel, Ruben, and Cathelijne! They covered some incredible topics, including Project Chimera, Project Hawking, our latest results, and a deep dive into what truly defines us as a team – our DNA.
Also, a big thank you to all the colleagues who helped with setup, handing out presentations, and everything in between. Your support made this event a true success.
Thanks to everyone who joined and made this event such a success. On to the next one!

Summer Event 3rd of July
Next week is the day our Summer Event!
On the 3rd of July we will celebrate the summer with good food, fun activities with around 200 colleagues who signed up in the last couple of weeks.
For you to get exited as we during organizing, we are going to give you some teasers what to expect. So prepare yourself for:
Live music from Latino BM Royale to show your best dance moves. Fun fact about this band; It's family from our own HelloFresh colleague and in 2022 they were at our party too!
Activities such as the rodeobull, which was a great success at our last party in Klappolder. Or maybe you are our champ in the bungeerun?
Of course food and drinks are included. So we promise it will be a good day!
Sequencing at HelloFresh
The Amsterdam Engineering team is working on a project where they will rework the tool (software product) that produces our bartender stickers, recipe cards, picklists, overview and pallet labels. During this project, they closely collaborate with several people at production to build something that is scalable for the future. This project is called Gogeta and the largest change that they will implement should allow us to inject Factor and Green Chef boxes onto HelloFresh pallets. Last thursday, Anaïs (product manager in engineering team) presented in 15 minutes how we currently ensure that boxes are produced in the correct order and how this will change when the new tool is completed. Sublime Awards - Q3 2024
To celebrate our accomplishments and each other more we are launching our very own Benelux Awards - the Sublime Award. You can nominate a colleague who you think in the last quarter has been going above and beyond and has been a true ambassador of our DNA values, has a ''can-do'' attitude, and who you think deserves this award.
This is an opportunity to give your colleague extra recognition for all their hard work! The winner receives a 300 EUR dinner voucher to go out and celebrate this achievement.
You can vote for a colleague trough this form. Deadline for voting is the 4th of July and we will announce the winner during our strategy session on the 11th of July!
Celebrate Keti Koti
We wanted to take a moment to talk about Keti Koti, which means "Breaking the Chains" in Surinamese. This important day, celebrated on
July 1st, marks the abolition of slavery in Suriname and the Dutch Caribbean in 1863.
Keti Koti is a time to remember and honor the resilience and strength of those who suffered under slavery, and to reflect on the importance of freedom and equality. It's a day filled with vibrant celebrations, music, and shared meals, symbolizing unity and a hopeful future.
At HelloFresh, we actively strive to foster a culture where we treat each other with respect and as equals. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the significance of this day and celebrate the progress we’ve made, while acknowledging there’s still work to be done.
