*OPS-TECH Sprint recap and update*
Hello Tech and Data enthusiasts!
Past sprint the team's main focus was on launching Factor for the Nordics. All Minimum Viable Product topics have been tackled and friday 05/04 will mark the first Nordics Factor production day. Great milestone!
Coming sprint our focus is focusing on Data Management for the new Kanban application. We want to make sure that we are able to pull useful insights from the system. Furthermore, we will support the launch of Project Pax, which enables modularity for GreenChef via the HelloFresh Market line. Based on the available capacity we might also pick-up a number of DSL/DRL improvements, and some improvement points for the Factor Nordics flows.

Project IKEA (FACTOR Nordics)
Did you know that as of today (Friday 5th of April) we added 2 new countries where we are producing boxes, from our Prismalaan DC? Every Friday we are now producing FACTOR boxes for the Danish and Swedish market!
This week we started off with what we call a “soft launch” where only colleagues, friends and family from our Nordics team can order FACTOR boxes to check if our supply chain from the kitchen to the customer is well worked out and the boxes also arrive at our customers without any problems. During this project a lot of teams were involved in order to make this a success. To give some more insight into which teams worked on this project and how it came to a successful launch:
🇩🇰- Danish colleagues from our headquarters in Denmark
🇸🇪- Swedish production team of our DC in Bjuv (setting up the right flow production flow in Sweden, (see below more info)
🇳🇱- Local FACTOR team, OPS-Tech, Production team (setting up local flows & production process)
🇺🇸- Katana team (responsible for making sure all data flows match our production and the right box is used for packing the order)
As you can read above, it's really a joint effort between our different HelloFresh Markets to make this launch a success! To all of you who have been involved; On behalf of the FACTOR team and Guinio & Ruben, thanks a lot for all your valuable input during this project. Without your input we couldn’t make this launch a smooth and successful launch!
But,,, probably the remaining question for you; How does this FACTOR box travel from the Netherlands to a customer home in Sweden or Denmark?
After production is finished on Friday a truck will come to our DC to load all the pallets. The truck will drive directly to our HelloFresh DC in Bjuv (Sweden). We use this DC as what we call a “cross docking” DC. The pallets will be unloaded in Sweden and will be splitted to the right terminals (HUBS). This will be happening on Saturday morning. The splitted boxes will be loaded in the right truck to one of the inland terminals (HUBS) and from there the boxes will be delivered depending on the chosen delivery slot to our customers living in this area.
Follow up incident
Last week an incident happened while a colleague tried to fix a loose tire on an EPT. The EPT was lifted, but overturned. Thankfully no one got hurt, but the EPT was badly damaged.
Here is a safety alert as a reminder of our safety rules:
EPT’s are heavy machinery and come with high risks if not handled correctly.
Only certified technicians are allowed to perform maintenance and repairs.
What to do when an EPT needs to have maintenance or a repair?
DON’T - Try to fix it yourself! This can lead to serious injuries and/or damage to the EPT.
DO - Make a job in Ultimo (at the tablet in the canteen) or notify your teamlead.
ERROR RECORD - 0 - 10 - 1
At the beginning of this year we shared our 2024 OPS OKR: 2.1 Achieve a Production error rate of 1% for >10 weeks (incl. bulk uploads) by YE. This target helps us to focus on improving our customer experience and make our customers happier than ever!
I am super proud to share that in week 13, we have the lowest error rate EVER within our Production team! 1.17%!!!!!! 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
