As mentioned during the strategy session in February, we want to improve the structure/way of working in 2023.
This started with having a structural approach on the following :
Vision & focus : what are we going to do this year so that priorities are clear and aligned overall the teams.
Priority alignment for the next months at the leadership level (called internally PLT) so that we are sure that we get things done, no team overloaded and no priority conflict as much as possible. g
Start of a new project : who to involve and communicate so that nobody feels left out or not involved where they should but mostly to promote and value team work
Follow up of the OKR and the initiatives linked to it with concrete baseline and KPI
All the above will be discussed every two weeks by the PLT team and information will be cascade down to you by your line manager.
For the first half of this year, the main focus will be on guaranteeing a successful merge of PW and KP and the phase out of the French volume from KP.
An example of a project that is linked to the merge is to define the roles and responsibilities of the people so that we have a structural approach on what to expect from the people on the shopfloor/office and guarantee that they are doing the right things (no overlap, clear expectations on what to do…)
We encourage everyone to bring ideas for improvement, from the shopfloor to the office, so if you have any idea to improve, we invite you to either contact the OpEx team or go to your team leader first before initiating it (who will then make the link with the OpEx team). That way we are guaranteeing that the initiatives are aligned with the OKR & 0-10-1 and the current focus is kept so we do not start too much initiatives than we actually can.
Are you aware of the OKR for production for 2023? You can find them here
We invite you to talk to your line manager if you have any questions on the above.
From tomorrow, work will take place to construct a solar park on the roof of Prismalaan. This work will be ongoing until the end of May/beginning of June.
What will happen?
Besides the Pier, an external stair tower will be built on the outside. This will be used by the workmen to access the roof, in the process the space next to the pier will be fenced off for the workmen in which they can leave their own facilities. This space will be inaccessible for HelloFresh staff.
In addition, 2 locations have been designated (at dock 26 and dock 2/3 which they will need to lift materials onto the roof. Unfortunately, we cannot avoid some disruption at the docks, whereby they will be out of use for a morning and/or afternoon part. We therefore coordinate with the expedition team for this work to ensure it does not impact our production process.
If you have any questions or concerns about this topic , please let Rianne Dubendorffer-Bout know.
We have already had many submissions from colleagues who have registered for the birthday calendar.
Thank you for sharing with us!
If you didn't succeed to fill it in yet, you still have the chance to do so! We'd like to celebrate as much birthdays as possible :-)
Do you also think it's a shame that you don't always know who's birthday it is? Or even worse, that you missed the birthday of a close colleague?
Unfortunately, HR is not allowed to share these data with us due privacy laws. However, you yourself may share this with us if you like!
Fill in the FORM and we will do a shout-out to your birthday in the production newsletter!
We love pancakes!!!
And today, 17 March 2023, is heart-warming
National Pancake Day!
In the old days, the pantry and fridge mainly consisted of butter, milk, eggs, flour and sugar. And you might have guessed it, these made perfect pancakes. As such, these were eaten generously before the strict fasting period arrived.
But secretly we are happy that we can eat these at all other times too ;) So happy pancake day everyone!
Last couple of weeks, you had the oppertunity to answer the question: What would you like to see in the Weekly Newsletter?
We received a lot of responses. And here you see the result:
In the upcoming weeks we'll post more content you asked for!
And here you can find the poll for this week:
Last week there were a number of incidents involving the conveyor belt at the Fust hall. In these, two workers ended up with their hand between the horizontal and diagonal part of the conveyor belt.
Resulting that their hand swelled up and had to stay at home for several days.
As we are pursuing a safe working environment, we took immediate action following this incident so that this cannot happen again!
How can you help us with a safe invironment?
Always make a report in Ultimo if you see a situation that is not safe.

Key Learnings & Immediate actions:
Since we have new collision protection, unnecessary collision protection will be removed;
Eye-catching sticker will be attached at the emergency stop button;
Technical Department closed the gap between the horizontal and diagonal sections of the conveyor belt.
