That's what you were thinking right? "Oh gosh another school function thing. Another lecture on what I'm doing wrong".
It's not that. I promise.
Here is what the conversation will look like.
We'll have an introduction and a conversational icebreaker. (I know everybody hates the thought of those too--but come on, we all secretly enjoy them).
We'll review some data and statistics about our school, the parent survey data, and other sources.
Then we'll have a brief overview of Anxiety and Self-Esteem.
Then we talked together about what we would like to see happen.
No one is walking away from this meeting with all the solutions. But we WILL walk away with a stronger sense of community-- which is immeasurably important for student growth and hopefully, we'll leave with a few good questions and thoughts.
Plus the kids get to watch a movie on the big screen with popcorn and soda with their friends!
A win all around.
Joining us as consulting experts will be Mike Sanders, a clinical psychologist working in pediatric primary care, and our very own Erica Young, director of the PERCH program who has presented at conferences around the country on her work with the "Healing the Self" model.
December 13th from 6-8 PM. We will announce the movie for the kids shortly!
The picture above is our lost and found table. With the weird weather, kids have been shedding their layers, here, there, everywhere. It all ends up in lost and found.
Please talk to your child about looking through the lost and found, or stop on by to have a peek yourself.
All items left here during December break are donated to the Listen Center.
If you are donating items (canned peaches and fruit) to the Norwich Holiday Helper Basket for Seniors, please have them here by Monday!
