Ready or not, here comes summer! Thank you all for your support and efforts over the year. We weathered a lot of changes and unpredictability but with your support of the school your children experienced a supportive and unified adults landscape-- so important to their development.
This year's field day recieved a lot of support from the PTA and we are able to bring in some really cool new treats for the kids along with our old favorites. Once again I ask that you make sure your child is prepared for a fun day of activities that do involve getting wet at times. Please send them in with a towel and, if possible, sneakers and clothes you don't mind them getting wet and sweaty in! Because some events are outside, some inside, some are running and active, others are chill and calm-- bathing suits and flip flops are not appropriate. As always, call if you are not sure and we can help.
On the last day of school we celebrate our 5th graders who are moving on to the middle school. This is a school celebration for students and the whole student body, however, we do allow families of 5th graders to attend. We do ask that those families attending do NOT bring flowers or balloons etc to school--those are for home and home celebrations. We do it during the day and many children's parents and families will not be able to come (remember the intent is a school celebration), and as such, we do not want anyone feeling less than or that they aren't being celebrated.
Celebration starts at 12:45 PM.
All days this week are full days of school for us.
Congratulations to our 4th and 5th graders who gave two performances of their Shakesperian plays last week. Our whole school got to enjoy one of their performances and it was impressive! (though, if we are being honest a lot of us had a hard time understanding Shakesperian language!) Thank you to Northern Stage for offering us this amazing opportunity and thank you to Mr. Duguay, Mrs. Hufford, Mrs. Rench, and even Mrs Adams for the time and support they gave this project!
