Thank you for your cooperation and help to make it a great first week, despite the heat! All the kids were ready to go and get back to school and learning. Of course, many of us were struggling to adjust back into morning routines!
Dismissal- Busses this year are much more full than last year and we apologize for the timing missteps as we adjust to the more heavily loaded routes. We anticipate this should be ironed out by next week. In the meantime, it is always a good idea to be at the stop 5-10 minutes before the bus is supposed to arrive.
We are looking into alternative ways to dismiss walkers in the afternoon to see if we can speed up the whole process and I will let you know if we land on any changes. Again, I know it's a pain to wait in traffic, so I truly appreciate your patience and I promise we are working on tightening it up so the whole process will be well under 15 minutes again but retain all of the safety features.
Paperwork- Please remember to get back the beginning of the school paperwork that was sent home in backpacks as soon as you can.
SNACKS- We will be doing the fresh fruit and veggie snack program again this year and that should be starting up soon. In the meantime, please feel free to send healthy snacks in with your students if they are feeling hungry during the day.
Water Bottles- This week really proved how important it is to send your child in with a water bottle. If this is a hardship please let us know and we will try to get you a reusable water bottle.
Have you tried school lunch or breakfast this year? The reviews are in and they are good! Chef Scott is serving up some great food. With meals being free to all students this year, why not give it a shot! Menus can always be accessed on this website from the drop-down above.

The Hartford Community Coalition just finished a 9 week summer meals program where we made and distributed almost 12,000 meals to the Hartford Community. And now we are required to finish a 6 month DFC grant report as well as our next year's application for funding = both due on 8/31. Ahhhhh!

Interested in getting certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)?? This training is for adults who work with, raising and/or care about kids. Alike CPR, YMHFA gives adults some tools to recognize symptoms of a youth mental health challenge and know some steps to take to keep our kids safe and cared for. If you are interested in getting trained, or perhaps you have a group of you within your organization or community who would like to get trained and receive a 3-year International certification in YMHFA. Contact Kelly kellyc@hccvt.org for more information!
