There is some snow on the ground! Sort of...So it's a good time to review our winter gear expectations.
students are expected to wear snow pants, winter hats, mittens/gloves, and boots.
Children who do not dress for the weather will have their recess privileges limited.
Label your child's clothes.
Come dressed and ready for morning recess.
During the school day on Tuesday, December 14th, each grade level (K-5) and the 5th grade band will be recorded separately performing a concert song. The videos will then be edited together into a virtual concert. The link to that video will be shared through Google Drive with student families some time before December break.
The students have been working very hard to learn and practice their concert songs, and we would love to have as many involved in the performance as possible. Please make every effort for your student(s) to attend school on Tuesday, December 14th if possible. Also, if you didn't sign a media release form earlier in the year, you should have received a letter asking your preferences specifically regarding the concert recording. Please send that back to your student's teacher as soon as possible.
Students are welcome to wear their concert best for the performances, but no special attire is required. They will need to wear masks while performing. Students in 5th grade band will need to bring their instruments to school on Tuesday, December 14th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Wadleigh at wadleighl@hartfordschools.net. We are excited to be able to perform again and looking forward to a fun virtual performance!
We have two ways to test for Covid by the school.
1.) Response Testing.
Given at school
Best for when child is sent home with Covid symptoms.
Must have prior consent by parents to administer. If you want to use this option you need to fill out the online consent now, as it takes 24 hours to be verified.
Go here to sign consent incase you want to use this option in the future: Universal Consent for Response Testing for SU/SDs
2.) Home Sendout Test Kit
Test at home
Can pick up test at school if your child is sick at home.
PCR test.
Pros and Cons:
Pro: Both test options are the kind that swab inside the nostrils, not the deep "brain poking" swab.
Con: Both of these tests take about 36-48 hours to result, so DHMC and APD may still be the better option depending on the situation.
