Winter Sports Sign-Ups

Please check your child's backpack for winter sports sign-up forms tomorrow. Every child in grades K-5 will be participating in some activity this winter during the school day. K-2 will have a 1/2-day program. 3-5 will have a full-day program. Please return the permission forms by December 9th. We will have and optional information and volunteer sign-up at the next PTA meeting; Thursday December 8th @ 6:30 PM.

PTA Craft and Movie Night-- The students voted this week, and we'll be screening Harry Potter and the Soccer's Stone tomorrow at 6:30. Crafts start at 5:30 in Cafeteria! See the flier below for all the details.

IMPACT OF SCREENS ON KIDS

Next Thursday (12/8) at 6:30 the DBS PTO is hosting a talk on the impacts of media on children’s eating sleeping, and physical activity. It will be in the DBS Library. (Dothan Brook Elementary School)

Dr. Gilbert-Diamond, ScD co-leads the Media and Health Behaviors Lab at Dartmouth College, where she studies how screen time affects children’s eating, sleep, and physical activity. She will be speaking about research related to screening time and health outcomes as well as current recommendations.

All WRS parents and care givers are invited to attend.
