Reminders and Upcoming:
We're out of mittens! We started this year with over one hundred knit mittens which we give students if they forgot a pair at home. We still have snow on the ground, but we don't have any more mittens! Please remember to send your child to school with winter gear so they can enjoy the snow while it lasts. (You are welcome to keep the mittens if you have a pair, but if you happen to find you have ten pairs, please consider washing them and returning them to school)
Next Friday, March 17th, 2023 is our Spring Concert.
The night starts with PTA Pi Day in a cafeteria starting at 5 PM-- buy some Pies (savory or sweet) and help raise money for a good cause!.
The music kicks off at 6.
Lots of Letters!
Please look below for some very important letters that have been sent out this week.
1st- HSD is looking for community members interested in being on the Equity Coordinator search committee.
2nd- Kindergarten Registration-- That's right, have a child who will be five by September 1st, 2023; sign them up for Kindergarten!
3rd- PreKindergarten Registration-- Know a three or four year old in Hartford? Sign them up for one of our PreK programs! (Hurry spots are limited for this free program!)

The Hartford School District is currently receiving applicants for our Equity Coordinator/Director position for the 2023-24 school year. We are committed to building a hiring committee that includes the diversity of our school community, including members of the Global Majority, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, religious and faith backgrounds, and other historically and currently marginalized groups. We would like this hiring committee to include:
Teaching faculty representing multiple levels K-12
People with a passion for equity work
Members of school affinity and equity groups (students, families and staff)
Administrator
Curriculum coordinator
Parents/caregivers
Members of the hiring committee will complete Anti-Bias training prior to participating in the interview process, which will begin in late March.
